Inspired by a long forgotten series of albums of environmental recordings produced between 1928 and 1972, "The Whitechapel Sound Survey 2022" is a modern day take on the traditional British sound survey LP. Using immersive 3D binaural recordings of the urban sounds of Whitechapel and Spitalfields, and incorporating electronic ambient music, this is a 41 minute suite that encapsulates the atmosphere of London's east end.

The album also includes a 25 minute bonus mix featuring the isolated 3D sound recordings. The download also includes a PDF booklet of sleeve notes explaining the history of the survey along with photographs of the recording locations taken by Andrew Firth.

A great collection of music. Some understated, some powerful. Hound Trails reminds me of Sci-Fi soundtracks. Striding Edge is a moving soundscape filled with very infectious rhythms. teraley
